Rebecca Brock has lived in Virginia for nearly 20 years and still isn't used to the humidity. She has been a flight attendant for most of her adult life and is still surprised by this fact.
She holds an MFA from Bennington College and received a Virginia Commission for the Arts Fellowship in 2006. Her work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net. She recently won the 2022 Muriel Craft Bailey Poetry Contest judged by Ellen Bass and the 2022 Editor's Choice Award at Sheila-Na-Gig. She was a finalist in the 2021 Joy Harjo Poetry Prize at Cutthroat, A Journal of the Arts. Her chapbook, Each Bearing Out, was a semifinalist in the New Women's Voices Contest at Finishing Line Press and is now available from Kelsay Books.
