Rebecca Brock has lived in Virginia for nearly 20 years and still isn't used to the humidity. She has been a flight attendant for most of her adult life and is still surprised by this fact.
She holds an MFA from The Bennington Writing Seminars and received a Virginia Commission for the Arts Fellowship in 2006. Her work has been published or is forthcoming in The Threepenny Review, CALYX, The Comstock Review, Mom Egg Review, SWWIM, Whale Road Review & elsewhere. Her poetry has been nominated for Best of the Net and the Pushcart Prize. She recently won the 2022 Editor's Choice Award at Sheila-Na-Gig and was a finalist in the 2021 Joy Harjo Poetry Prize at Cutthroat, A Journal of the Arts. Her chapbook "Each Bearing Out" was a semifinalist in the New Women's Voices contest at Finishing Line Press and is forthcoming from Kelsay Books in 2022.
