Rebecca Brock won The Comstock Review’s 2022 Muriel Craft Bailey Memorial Poetry Contest, judged by Ellen Bass, and the 2022 Editor's Choice Award at Sheila-Na-Gig. Her first chapbook, Each Bearing Out, was a semifinalist in the New Women's Voices contest at Finishing Line Press and is now available from Kelsay Books.
She holds an MFA from The Bennington Writing Seminars and received a Virginia Commission for the Arts Fellowship in 2006. Her work has been published or is forthcoming in The Threepenny Review, CALYX, Mom Egg Review, Rust + Moth, Sky Island Journal, SWWIM, Whale Road Review & elsewhere. Her poetry has been nominated for Best of the Net and the Pushcart Prize. She recently won the 2022 Editor's Choice Award at Sheila-Na-Gig and was a finalist in the 2021 Joy Harjo Poetry Prize at Cutthroat, A Journal of the Arts.
She has lived in Virginia for nearly 20 years and still isn't used to the humidity. She has been a flight attendant for most of her adult life and is still surprised by this fact.
